dr-wojciech-mazur-md-faccWojciech Mazur, MD, FACC

Dr. Mazur is a second-generation cardiologist. He earned his medical degree in Poland before he came to the United States, where he completed a residency and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas. Since 2003, he’s been associated with Ohio Heart and Vascular Center, specializing in cardiac imaging and clinical cardiology. He is one of few cardiologists in the Tri-State area who has achieved level III training in cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and cardiac computed tomography. He serves as Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging at The Christ Hospital as well as Associate Professor of Medicine & Pediatrics at University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He published over 50 research articles in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Mazur believes that the scientific aspect of medicine is vital, but in combination with a compassion for humanity. He personally donates to one of his favorite causes, Operation Smile, an organization that provides free surgeries to repair facial deformities on children around the world.

For him, the best part of being a cardiologist is making a difference in patients’ lives. He tries to encourage his patients to understand they are in charge of their health. He strongly believes in a “holistic” approach to cardiology and very often tries life style changes before prescribing another medication. He most commonly prescribes dark chocolate, exercise and meditation.

He and his wife, who also is a physician, live with two young sons along side two dogs named Texas and Charlie. Boots the turtle completes their household. To relax, Dr. Mazur enjoys mountain biking and meditation; when he’s not cheering at his sons’ soccer games.

Dr. Mazur is one of few cardiologist in the Tri-State area that is trained in MR and CT scanning.
