Greg Egnaczyk, MD, PhD
Background
Dr. Egnaczyk is the latest addition to the Advanced Heart Failure Team at The Christ Hospital; a group now providing a Mechanical Heart Assist Device Program including ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation for patients with advanced heart failure. Dr. Egnaczyk is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine and echocardiography. He has completed advanced clinical training in echocardiography and heart failure/transplant.
During his fellowship at Duke University, Dr. Egnaczyk performed laboratory research in cardiac regeneration which led to authorship of an article for Nature, the leading weekly international scientific journal. He also helped establish the CRT Nonresponder Clinic at Duke; a clinic to manage patients with less than the expected response to Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT).
